The Stegosaurus was a armored dinosaur from the Late Jurassic period that thrived in what is now western North America.
The Stegosaurus lived some 155 to 145 million years ago, in an environment and time dominated by the giant sauropods.
Stegosaurus were fairly large animals, roughly the size of a big brown package delivery truck, yet they were easily dwarfed by the other dinosaurs of the time.
